Terms of Service

Last updated: June 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Check Harbor API, web console, and applications (collectively, the "Service") operated by Check Harbor ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Check Harbor provides a developer API that validates and scores email addresses, phone numbers, and IP addresses, including batch processing and a unified fraud score, delivered through an HTTP API, a web console, and native macOS/iOS apps.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials and API keys secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys. Notify us immediately at support@checkharbor.com of any unauthorised use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, legitimate purposes — such as cleaning signup data, improving deliverability, and preventing fraud and abuse. You must not use the Service to:

You are the controller of the personal data you submit for validation and are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it. We act as a processor on your behalf for that data.

4. Credits, plans, and billing

5. Accuracy disclaimer

Validation results are provided on a best-effort basis using third-party data and heuristics. We do not guarantee that any result (deliverability, line type, VPN/proxy detection, or fraud score) is complete or error-free. You are responsible for how you act on the results.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. Planned maintenance and incidents are communicated where possible.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, APIs, documentation, and branding, is owned by Check Harbor. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service per these Terms. You retain ownership of the data you submit and the results returned to you.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Check Harbor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits or data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create legal or security risk. Upon termination your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability) survive.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are indicated by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notified by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain unaffected.
